Prawn Malaicurry
Ingredients
- 3 cups coconut paste,
- 1 cup water,
- 1 tea spoon ginger paste,
- 1 tea spoon garlic paste,
- 1/2 cup cooking oil,
- 3 onions (chopped),
- 1-1/4 tea spoon turmeric powder,
- 2-1/2 tea spoon red chilli paste,
- 1-1/2 tea spoon garam masala powder,
- 1-1/4 kg prawns (shelled and cleaned),
- 2 tea spoon sugar,
- salt to taste.
Method :-
Boil the coconut paste in a cup of water. Strain to get the coconut milk. Heat oil in a pan. Pour the chopped onions into it and fry until it turns golden brown. Add the ginger and garlic paste. Stir well. Also add the salt, turmeric powder and chilli paste. Now add the garam masala. Stir well for a few seconds. Pour the prawns. Fry them slightly. Slowly add the coconut milk and sugar. Stir thoroughly. Bring the whole thing to a boil. Continue boiling until the gravy thickens. Remove from heat. Serve hot with rice.
