Khatta Mango Dal
Ingredients
- Masoor dal (lentil) 250 grams
- 1/3 tsp turmeric powder
- 3 raw mangoes peeled and cut into long pieces
- Salt to taste
- 2 dry red chilies
- 6-7 cups of water.
Method :-
Boil 6 cups of water in a pan. Then add dal to the water, add turmeric powder and allow it to boil for sometime. When the dal cracks and becomes soft, mix it well with a stirrer, add salt. In another pan take the of mango pieces, pour water in it and allow to boil till the mango pieces become tender. Then put the pre-boiled mango pieces in it, add sugar. The dal should not be very thick. Heat oil in a pan, fry the dry chilies in it. When the chilies are dark brown pour the dal together with the mango pieces and boil for about 3 minutes. Remove it from the stove and allow it to cool to room temperature. Khatta Mango Dal is ready to serve.
