 Aloo Dam (Dry Potato Curry)


  • Potato (small & round) - 1/2 kg.
  • Oil 
  • Salt  two table spoonfuls
  • Paste of Onion & Ginger 
  • Chili Powder one spoonful
  • Garam-Masala
  • Coriander
  • 4 Cloves 
  • Cinnamon 
  • Cardamom .
  • Turmeric Powder one spoonful
  • Yogurt
  • Sugar one spoon
  • Green Chili

Method :-

Small round potatoes need to be peeled and kept in salty water for 1/2 hour.  Potatoes then need to be fried in oil till the become golden brown and firm. The cloves,  cardamom and cinnamon need to be fried in a little bit of oil and then the onion and ginger paste added to that and roasted for about 10 minutes. Red chili powder, turmeric powder and the garam-masala powder should be put in the paste and fried. Add a little bit of sugar. Put the yogurt in a container and stir it to regular liquid and then add it to the fried paste. Put the fried potatoes and cook on a small flame for at least 10 minutes  till potatoes become tender if possible in a pressure pan. Place green chili and coriander leaves on the top.
