The Foolish King

               
Once upon a time a very beautiful Princess was born. The King's heart was filled with love for his daughter. He wished that his daughter could grow up quickly into a beautiful lady so that he could marry her off to a very handsome Prince and see them happily living together. For this purpose he summoned all the Court Doctors and enquired if there was any medicine available for the purpose. The clever doctors decided to utilise this opportunity to grab a large sum of money from the King. They told him that they knew of such a medicine which could be given to the Princess, but it was not available within their country. So they will have to send men to bring the medicine from far off lands. Also in the meantime they would have to  keep the Princess out of the sight of the King. Their explanation was that if the Father saw the daughter, then the medicine would not be effective. The foolish King believed it and agreed. After many years when the Princess actually grew up into a beautiful lady, the Doctors presented the Princess before the King to show him the effect of their medicine on her. The foolish King was very happy to see his daughter grown up and thought it to be the result of the special medicine. He rewarded the Doctors liberally.
